ABOUT ALISON

​

Alison is a trial lawyer who represents individuals, businesses, and organizations when the stakes are high and the facts are complicated. 

​

Her practice is broad by design. Alison handles business and commercial disputes, employment matters, construction and real estate litigation, education law, and other complex civil cases. She has represented clients in state and federal court, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and appeals. Whether a case involves a closely held business falling apart, an employee or employer navigating a serious workplace dispute, a construction project gone wrong, or a teacher, student, or family trying to make a school listen, Alison's approach is the same: learn the facts, understand what actually matters to the client, and develop a strategy aimed at getting somewhere useful.

Alison believes good legal advice is not simply identifying every argument that can be made; it is helping a client understand which arguments matter, what the risks actually are, and when to fight, negotiate, or find another way forward. 

​

Before becoming a lawyer, Alison served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru. She later graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law and served as judicial intern for the Honorable Mary Ellen Coster Williams of the United States Court of Federal Claims. Alison is fluent in Spanish and is licensed to practice law in Iowa and Illinois. She joined the firm in 2016 and is now a shareholder.
